The Nightingale

The second favorite musical that was in Broadway is the Nightingale which is a fairytale that talks about the a Nightingale which is a bird that has very distinct sound. This bird sings to a fisherman and the emperor wants to also hear it. Therefore his cook goes and finds it and give to the emperor. The emperor loves it so much that he makes mechanical version of it and then the bird gets angry. The emperor wasn’t happy therefore bans the nightingale. Later on the emperor gets very sick. The nightingale comes to save him by singing and the emperor is saved.

The nightingale is normally known by its French name which is “ Le Rossignol” it was a Russian musical. it was composed in 1908-09 but it was not until 1951 that is was completely fully with the the musical and the opera. It is really known for technological way of creating dragons and birds but also for the use of colors all around the opera. The tradition was also Asian which was impressive to the audience as it was near the end of World War I
